Off-gassing involves release of volatile compounds and occurs from most products in one form or another except those that are inert, or nearly so (such as most metals, glass etc.). Off-gassing from some products can occur for years. Identifying what compounds are off-gassing is important when there are concerns regarding chemical levels and compliance.
