Biomedically important pathogenic fungi detection with volatile biomarkers

Volatile Analysis, in conjunction with scientists from UA Huntsville, has been successful in publishing research conducted to identify volatile chemicals indicative of a deadly disease called aspergillosis. This work is published in the Journal of Breath Research, J. Breath Res. 6 (2012) 016002. The paper is available on line until February 11, 2012 through the following link:

The detection of volatile metabolites produced by infectious diseases may provide early warning and rapid, non-invasive, and more affordable diagnostic tests. This work was originally conducted with the late Dr. Gopi Podila, an excellent scientist, local leader in biological science education, and friend.
